Traditional Sadhya meal is served as members of the Canadian Malayalee community held a fundraiser for the victims of the floods in Kerala, India. the fundraiser was held on September 15, 2018 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and hundreds came to give their support. Heavy rain in resulted in over 800,000 people being displaced and more than 373 people being killed in what has been called the worst flooding in Kerala in nearly a century. All 14 districts of the state were placed on high alert and thirty-five out of the forty-two dams within the state were opened for the first time in history.
